Friday September 11 th is a very important date for Valencia CF. Our club keeps growing further than the goals, fixtures, victories and championships thanks to leader, consolidated companies like Herbalife which joins us for at least two seasons. Their distinctive logo will be printed on the official shorts. Rubén Baraja, as usual, was the model at the showcase of the image of new uniform.
Large delegations of both companies attended the event. On behalf of VCF: President Manuel Llorente, Sports Director Fernando Gómez, Communication Director Damià Vidagany, Marketing Director Juan Pablo Molinero –whose role was key for the agreement with Herbalife– and Director Jordi Bruixola. On behalf of the global nutrition, weight-loss and skin-care company: Herbalife Spain Director Gerardo Vallejo, Marketing Director Yolanda Abad, some members of the team of presidents of the company and major successful distributors.
Damià Vidagany: 'We'll show with pride their logo in the shorts of our team'.
'It's an important day for VCF – such a strong commitment with our club in current hard times. We must thank that the main company in its sector looked at Valencia CF and wanted to be on our side. From now on, Herbalife is an official VCF sponsor and we'll show with pride their logo in the shorts of our team. It's one of the companies more committed with the team'.
Juan Pablo Molinero: 'The agreement with Herbalife will help us to expand our image abroad'
'We joked with Herbalife delegation – "at last we're here, after some months of negotiations". Herbalife is a US multinational based in Los Ángeles. Negotiations with this kind of companies are more complex, but our strategy aimed at a company with a brand recognised not only at our region, but also in Spain and the rest of Europe. Thanks to joint efforts of their sales representatives in Spain, Herbalife wants to work with VCF and take an innovative step by placing their logo in the shorts of the uniform, a physical space yet to be used. The agreement with Herbalife will help us to expand our image abroad'.
Gerardo Vallejo, Herbalife Spain Director: 'It's exciting that VCF will wear a sponsor in their shorts for the first time in history – and that will be us'.
'Finally we reached a fruitful agreement, beneficial for both sides. Our career is based on a nutrition and personal care 30 years presence on the international market and 20 years in Spain, with a wide range of cosmetic products. We look for the wellness at the end of the day, and that's the word that moves us. Healthy life doesn't rely just on food, but in an active way of life bound to the sport. And there's no better sport in Spain than football. And there's no better team than Valencia CF. It's a lucky coincidence, like the consolidated team of this club. They fit in Herbalife's work philosophy – to give our best and bound to the sport. This kind of agreements exists on a personal level, like Sergio Rodríguez, or in an international level – we are the only official sponsors of Los Ángeles Galaxy at the US soccer league. Recently we signed a similar agreement with Inter Milan. But we must be in the biggest league of the world, and there VCF offers everything that Herbalife needs. It's a very special moment we fought for and it's exciting that VCF will wear a sponsor in their shorts for the first time in history. It's a great agreement. I can only say: Amunt València!'
