PHILOSOPHY, METHODOLOGY AND ORGANIZATION
PHILOSOPHY, METHODOLOGY AND ORGANIZATION
What is the philosophy of the VCF Academy? How is it transmitted during the Camp?
The philosophy of the VCF Academy is based on the motto “we educate people, we develop footballers.” Beyond sporting development, we promote values and help shape responsible, supportive individuals with a positive mindset.
The values that define our identity as an Academy are:
Sentiment: pride in belonging to Valencia CF, respect, and passion for the game.
Valentia: bravery, playing decisively, and never giving up.
Germanor: teamwork, unity, and cooperation.
These values are transmitted in every session and reinforced in a daily workshop led by VCF Academy staff.
Is this a high-performance camp?
No. This is a recreational and educational camp focused on technical improvement, enjoyment, and coexistence, rather than competitive demands. It is open to both federated players and those who practice football recreationally.
Do boys and girls train together? How are groups organised?
Yes. The Camp is mixed, and boys and girls may train together unless there are enough participants to create male-only and female-only groups.
Groups are formed according to age and level, ensuring an appropriate learning environment.
Groups may be adjusted throughout the week to improve the experience, always based on the criteria of the Camp staff.
What is the coach-to-player ratio?
The minimum ratio is 1 coach for every 14–16 players.
Additionally, groups are supported by leisure and activity supervisors who assist with all non-training activities such as meals, socio-educational workshops, pool sessions, Mestalla Tour, etc.
Is there specific training for goalkeepers?
Yes. Each day includes group training combined with dedicated goalkeeper sessions led by VCF Academy specialists. Goalkeepers must use gloves in order to participate in the specific training.
What is the main language of the Camp?
The main language is Spanish. In groups with participants who do not speak Spanish, English will be used as a complementary language. Valencian may also be used.
How is participant drop-off and pick-up managed?
Drop-off: 09:00 to 09:15
Pick-up: 18:45 to 19:00
The staff assigned to each group will receive and accompany all participants in the exterior parking area of the VCF Training Centre. Punctuality is requested to ensure proper organisation of the Camp.
Is transportation provided?
No. Families must take care of drop-off and pick-up at the Training Centre.
Are the Camp activities open to the public?
All afternoon training sessions (Monday to Thursday, 17:30–18:45) and the Friday training session and closing ceremony (17:00–19:00) will be open to families. Access to the Valencia CF Training Centre will be allowed from 17:00, and no accreditation is required. All other Camp activities will take place behind closed doors.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMP
EQUIPMENT NEEDED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMP
What should participants bring each day?
Full Puma Valencia CF training kit. The first kit will be provided on the first day and must be worn on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The second kit will be provided on the second day and must be worn on Tuesday and Thursday. Please make sure to select the correct size in the registration form to ensure participants can train comfortably throughout the Camp.
Football boots with rubber studs or turf soles and shin guards. The use of boots and shin guards is mandatory for all training sessions. It is also recommended not to use new boots for the first time during the Camp to avoid blisters and discomfort. Backpack or sports bag with trainers, a change of clothes, towel, flip-flops, shower gel and/or shampoo.
Swimsuit and swim cap.
Reusable water bottle. We recommend bringing it filled from home to speed up the start of the first training session. Fresh water will be available at the Camp so participants can refill it as many times as needed throughout the day.
High-protection sunscreen, resistant to water and sweat, applied at home before arriving at the Camp. It is also recommended to carry it in the backpack to reapply during the day.
What should participants not bring?
Valuable items: money, mobile phones or other electronic devices, etc.
Watches, bracelets, rings or other accessories.
Clothing or accessories from other professional football clubs.
Food.
ACTIVITIES
ACTIVITIES
How do the training sessions work?
The training sessions follow the VCF Academy’s training methodology, recognised as the 3rd best in Spain according to the CIES Report, and are designed to improve each player’s technical and tactical abilities, both individually and as part of a group. Each session lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes and takes place on artificial turf pitches at the VCF Training Centre.
How do the socio-educational activities and the swimming pool sessions work?
Each day, after lunch and free time, participants take part in one complementary activity, alternating between indoor swimming pool sessions and socio-educational workshops. Each group will enjoy at least two indoor pool sessions during the week.
Participants who cannot swim, are unable to take part due to medical reasons, or prefer not to participate in the pool session must indicate this in the observations section of the registration form. They will remain with the Camp staff and take part in a supervised alternative activity, without this affecting their overall experience at the Camp.
The socio-educational activities consist of workshops delivered by associations that collaborate with the Fundació VCF. These workshops aim to highlight social values and realities from different perspectives, complementing the learning that takes place on the pitch and contributing to the fundamental objective of both the VCF Academy and the Camp: educating people and developing footballers.
How does the Mestalla Forever Tour visit work?
The Mestalla Forever Tour takes place on Wednesdays, after lunch and before the afternoon training session. Groups will be organised with specialised guides to ensure the best possible experience at the most historic stadium in LaLiga.
