Teams arrive for VCF Academy World Cup

From June 27th to 30th, it brings together Under-12s teams from America, Asia and Europe

Preparations for the III VCF Academy World Cup begin this week, with the arrival of Under-12s teams from America, Asia and Europe. Ahead of the tournament itself, through to Thursday there will be Training Experiences at the Ciudad Deportiva and visits to sights in Valencia.

The VCF Academy from Canada, The Bridge SC from Jordan, and the American VCF Academy teams from Seattle, Houston and Chicago have already been able to carry out the first training sessions.

The preparations also include different friendly matches with clubs, agreed upon with Valencia CF within the Escoles VCF program, to allow them to test their level.

The competition itself gets underway on Friday, with the final on Sunday. Previous winners are FC Zalgiris Kaunas from Lithuania and Poliesportiva Bruinese from Italy.

On Thursday at 1:00 p.m., the opening ceremony will take place at the Antonio Puchades, attended by Valencia CF player Hugo Guillamón, ambassador of the III VCF Academy World Cup, as well as former players and club ambassadors Vicente Rodríguez and Miguel Ángel Bossio.

The 2024 edition will be the third edition of a VCF Academy World Cup; a standout tournament for the different Under-12s teams from different parts of the world, mostly linked to the different international projects that Valencia CF carries out through the VCF Academy Programs. This Internationalisation Strategy was a finalist in the World Football Summit Awards for 2023.

In 2023, more than 5,000 players and 400 coaches from over 50 countries around the world participated in the various VCF Academy Programs to learn more about the VCF Academy's playing methodology and become part of the Valencianista family
