Match Report | Valiant Valencia CF lose 0-2 to Real Madrid

The team are beaten by two second half goals

Valencia CF's LaLiga EA SPORTS match against Real Madrid at Mestalla ended in a 0-2 defeat, despite a valiant effort from the home side.

The team started out with great energy and provided high pressure, launching the first attacks early on. Real Madrid stopped Valencia CF's counter-attacks with fouls, albeit escaping bookings in the process.

In the 19th minute, Stole Dimitrievski saved a powerful shot from Mbappé inside the penalty area.

After a few minutes of balanced play, as both teams struggled to control the game, the Macedonian goalkeeper intervened again to make a save from the shot by Real Madrid full-back David Jiménez.

Valencia CF's pushing up on Real Madrid's back line was paying off. Danjuma almost scored the first goal of the match with a low drive that was blocked by a Real Madrid defender.

Despite the persistent attacks and solid defence, the scoreline remained goalless at halftime, with everything to play for in the second stanza.

SECOND HALF

After the break, Carlos Corberán's men had another chance to score after a cross from Danjuma that Beltrán backheeled close to the left post.

Real Madrid continued to commit repeated fouls to stop play. Valencia CF took control of possession and seemed the more likely of the two teams to score, but that changed in the 65th minute: Álvaro Carreras put Real Madrid ahead after a move in which he won several rebounds in the area and then finished low.

Five minutes later, Beltrán hit the post after combining with Ugrinic. Guido and Thierry came on to freshen things up, shortly followed by Javi Guerra, Ramazani, and Sadiq.

However, in the 91st minute, Mbappé scored the second goal and sealed the victory for the visitors.

Valencia CF's next fixture is across town in a derby, when they take on Levante UD on Matchday 25.
