The 3rd Cor Blanquinegre Schools Tournament “Pepe Claramunt” once again featured the participation of the Valencia legend himself and also included a special guest: Valencia CF footballer Diego López joined Claramunt during the final stage of the tournament and at the medal ceremony for each of the 50 students.
It is worth noting that 2026 has been declared the “Year of Claramunt” to mark the 80th anniversary of the birth of the Valencia legend (10/07/1946).
The students came from CEIP San Blas (Albal), CEIP Fernando de los Ríos (Burjassot), CEIP Santa Bárbara (Benifaió), and Colegio Madre Petra (Torrent), while the coaches were Emilio Fenoll, Cristian Castells, Carlos Sanchis, and Pablo Sánchez.
All four schools are linked to the Escoles CB sports and educational initiative run by the VCF Foundation.
In this 3rd Tournament, the children not only received their corresponding medal featuring Claramunt’s image, but were also given a copy of either Sara y las goleadoras by Laura Gallego or Los titanes del fútbol by J.R. Barat.
These books were purchased by the VCF Foundation together with Divina Seguros from five bookstores affected by the DANA floods: Samaruc (Algemesí), La Moixeranga (Paiporta), Somnis de Paper (Benetússer), Bufanúvols (Catarroja), and L'Esplai Llibres (L'Alcúdia).
11 SEASONS OF VALUES
Escoles Cor Blanquinegre is a sports and educational initiative run by Valencia CF, through the VCF Foundation and the Provincial Council of Valencia, and it is celebrating its 11th season in 2025–26.
Since the 2015–16 season, coaches from the VCF Academy, Valencia CF Femenino, and the VCF Footballers Association have delivered weekly training sessions focused on values at each of the selected schools. These sessions also serve as an educational tool for school staff.
Each academic year, Escoles CB is carried out in Primary Education schools, with the collaboration of the Provincial Council of Valencia, in 20 schools across the Valencian Community that face various social challenges. Every season, the initiative directly benefits an average of 300 participants and indirectly reaches nearly 3,500 people.
