Dani Raba: “I’m really excited, I’m in the best possible place to give my best and help the team”
First statements from Valencia CF’s new signing
Dani Raba is now officially a Valencia CF player and has shared his first thoughts in this interview with VCF Media Radio, where he highlights his excitement about joining the club and his eagerness to play at Mestalla.
Joining Valencia CF
“I’m absolutely delighted, really looking forward to getting over there, seeing the facilities, starting training, meeting everyone—and, to be honest, I’m over the moon and really excited to take this step. I know about Valencia CF, even though I haven’t been on the inside before, and I feel I can bring a lot to the table, just as the club can do a lot for me. At this stage of my career and my life, it’s the perfect moment to enjoy this opportunity. It’s a big step forward—everyone knows what Valencia CF is all about. With the confidence shown in me by Corberán and Corona, there was no way I could say no. I think it’ll do me good on both a personal and professional level, and I’m confident I can bring something positive to the club.”
A strong season at CD Leganés
“It’s all about carrying on from here—with my age and the way I’ve finished the season, I think I can make a difference. I’m at the peak of my form. Now it’s time to keep that going: compete, be ambitious, give my all to help Valencia CF.”
A pivotal moment in his career
“Signing for Valencia CF has come at the perfect moment for me. Professionally, mentally, and in terms of maturity, I’m in the best possible place to give my all and help the team.”
Mestalla
“I’ve had mates at Villarreal CF who’ve spent a long time at the club, and they often used to say there were matches that the stadium itself would win in the toughest moments. You really have to experience it to understand it, and I can’t wait to step onto that pitch for the first time with a full crowd and really soak it all in.”
Versatility on the pitch
“I feel most comfortable playing just behind the striker or as a false nine, but once I’m there, Corberán will decide where I fit best, and I’ll adapt. I do feel that, playing through the middle, I can be more direct, cause more problems, pick the final pass, arrive in the box, and be a real threat to the opposition.”
Second half of the season for Valencia CF
“You can really see the importance of the manager, having a clear plan—and with the same players, they’ve had a second half of the season worthy of the Champions League. That’s the path to follow: adapt to the manager’s ideas, build on what the team has been doing—which has often been very good—and do everything we can to contribute our best.”
