Diego López: "I'm really happy with what we Valencia CF players are contributing to the Spanish national team"
The Valencia CF forward is through to the U21 EURO quarter-finals
The forward reflects on the game against Athletic Club
Hugo Duro was part of the Valencia CF side that played their final home game on LaLiga Matchday 37, and he spoke about the 0-1 defeat to VCF Media.
Jaume’s farewell
It’s a huge shame that Jaume won’t be continuing, because besides being an outstanding professional, he’s an incredible person, and I’m going to miss him like he was my father.
He has an amazing mentality—something I’d love to have: that hunger, that drive. This season he knew it would be very hard to get playing time, yet he never showed a bad attitude. He was always helping the team and the younger players. In the future, I’d love to be like him.
Mamardashvili’s goodbye
He’ll definitely be missed—and the rest of the LaLiga teams will be happy about him going. He’s going to be missed a lot. He’s a great goalkeeper who will end up being the best in the world, and it’s a shame to see him go. But I’m happy for him because, aside from being a top goalkeeper, he’s also a gentle giant -just a big softie- and we’ll miss him both as a person and as a player.
Mestalla
There’s no need to say it again—Mestalla knows how much we need the fans. It’s a massive advantage for us. When we were in the thick of the relegation battle, I looked at this stadium and then at the rest of the grounds, and it was crazy. I knew that with the Mestalla factor, we had a step up over the other teams.
