Duro: "We have earned the right to be where we are"
The Valencia CF goalscorer talks after the win against Getafe CF
Hugo Duro talked about the 3-0 win at home to Getafe CF, in which he added to his goal tally for the season in an impressive showing.
Aresounding victory
It was a great showing, both offensively and defensively. It's true that in the second half we needed to be a little more ambitious, because games last 90minutes and you have to fight throughout, but it's difficult when you're already 3-0 up. You have to always push yourself. This isn't over. There are three games left, and now we have to look at other objectives, and we have to face Deportivo Alavés on Wednesday to try for another three points.
Another goal for his tally
It's not a bad tally. I have two left to equal last season's 13 goals. We will keep going, as we have to keep helping the team.
The goal celebrations
Diego (López) and I go bowling every week, and we're competitive in everything we do. We said that if one of us scored, one would pretend to bowl and the other would pretend to be a pin, and it was up to me to do it. We have to enjoy everything, and that's our way of enjoying ourselves.
We'll see if the second celebration has any meaning later on or not. Jesús (Correncueros) is a great man and knows all about sports, so you have to listen to him in every way. It's just a little anecdote.
Ambition
You have to have ambition. It's been a very difficult year, and we've earned the right to be up there where we are, even though some people say we're an easy team to be. I don't think there's a team in better form than us in Europe. But this is all about actions. The team are competing brilliantly and playing brilliantly, and we have to keep going, as there are three very tough games left.
