A goal a game for Gómez against Betis

Five goals in five games against this weekend's opponents is an impressive record for the VCF striker

Back available for action this weekend is Maxi Gómez, who served a one-game suspension against Real Sociedad and is at the disposal of coach Albert Celades for the meeting with Real Betis at Mestalla. The Uruguayan's return comes just in time, as against the Andalusian team he has an excellent scoring record: Five goals in five LaLiga encounters.

That includes a strike earlier this season for Valencia CF, when he received the ball from Ferran Torres and put the ball into the net. With the club needing a return to winning ways, claiming three points at Mestalla is vital on Saturday, and the presence of the Uruguayan -the team's top goalscorer- is a boost.

Gómez scored on his first visit to the Benito Villamarin in 2017/18 with Celta Vigo, and has scored every time he has played Betis since then, including a brace last season. Curiously enough, despite his record he has only been on the winning side against the Southern Spanish team on one occasion... so far.

Betis are the team who have conceded the most goals to the Uruguayan, besides a club in his homeland: CCyD El Tanque Sisley.
