The Nou Mestalla will be a leading stadium in environmental sustainability
The design, by Fenwick Iribarren Architects, follows the principles of ‘green architecture’
Valencia CF are still waiting to find out whether Dani Parejo and José Luis Gayà will be available for the LaLiga opener this weekend against Real Sociedad.
The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) had approved a measure that would allow the pair to play, pending the approval of the Consejo Superior de Deportes, but no decision has yet been made by the country’s highest sporting authority.
“I am sorry to have to be talking about this right now,” said Valencia CF general director Mateu Alemany on Thursday.
“If this situation had to be resolved, there was plenty of time in which to do so. In professional football, you can’t still not know if a player is eligible for selection 24 hours away the start of a game. If the CSD meeting were a requirement for the definitive approval of this law, and the RFEF knew that there was not going to be this meeting, then they should have evaluated beforehand if there was a solution.”
We know that there is the intention for a pardon, but I don’t believe that this gives the correct image of the competition. The RFEF should have foreseen these situations.”
