Celades: "I don't think that the season is lost"
Valencia CF coach Albert Celades spoke to the media after his team's game against Real Sociedad, discussing the Matchday 25 defeat.
The loss at the Reale Arena
“We can't give up. We have to turn this situation around. We are performing poorly away from home and since January we've been conceding a lot of goals. We're also struggling to score, whilst conceding easily. Obviously we have to improve and, although I'm repeating myself, not concede so many goals -because it's very difficult to earn points like that."
A reminder of the game against Atletico
"We came into this one off a tough defeat in the Champions League, which was too heavy for what we saw on the pitch. However, not long ago we had a great game against Atletico Madrid in which we deserved to win. We are struggling to win but, of course, I see myself as being strong enough to turn the situation around. I think that we are capable of doing it, because the players have done it before."
Upcoming games
"We are going through the worst moment of the season, but I don't think that the season is lost. We are not having the same performance away from home as at Mestalla. However, there are still a lot of games left in LaLiga and the return leg of the Champions League tie. Our idea is to continue picking up points, although the numbers are there and we have conceded too many goals that have impeded us from being at the top of the standings. We have to fix this as soon as possible."
