Cheryshev in contention for return against Atletico Madrid

A comeback from injury could see the Russian feature on Friday

Nobody wants to miss the game that takes place on Friday night against Atletico Madrid, and there could even be a Matchday 24 return for Denis Cheryshev, who is reaching the end of his readaptation process feeling positive and is set to be available for selection.

The winger went off injured in the game against RCD Mallorca, suffering from a problem with his left hamstring. His return would be an important boost to the side with the packed fixture list that lies ahead, with games against direct rivals in LaLiga and a Champions League Last 16 tie against Atalanta BC on the horizon.

Cheryshev has been gradually getting back to fitness and on Monday confirmed that his comeback is ever closer.
