Diakhaby: "Winning against Sevilla would be perfect for us"

With little time to recover from the game against FC Barcelona, Valencia CF shift their focus to a Tuesday night contest against Sevilla FC. Mouctar Diakhaby, the scorer of the opening goal at the Camp Nou, spoke to VCF MEDIA about the draw at the Camp Nou and the challenge ahead.
"I think that we had a good game. We wanted the three points, but a draw there is still a good result. We had a lot of chances to score, but that's football," analysed the Frenchman, whose goal came on a special day for him.
"I had double reason to celebrate, because yesterday was my birthday. I was proud of myself. The goal marks a step forward and I was very happy to score."
"It was a set piece that we've practiced in training. We knew that I was going to be left unmarked, because the move meant that they wouldn't follow me," the defender commented.
"I have more confidence right now. When you have confidence you can do anything. I knew that I was going to get the chance to score, and we were aware that Barça are a little fragile on corners. We used that to try to score."
Up next is the game against Sevilla, and Diakhaby is looking forward to the midweek LaLiga fixture that will be Valencia CF's last before Christmas.
"Winning against Sevilla would be perfect for us, so we are going to go for the victory. The three points are important to us, and we are going to try our hardest to get them in this game."
