Duro: "I've felt really comfortable and I had no doubt that I wanted to continue here"

Hugo Duro talked to VCF Media in his first interview following his loan deal at Valencia CF being made permanent and expressed his delight at the opportunity to stay at the club.
The renewal
I was looking forward to this moment, after the year that I've had here. I wanted to stay on here and I'm happy.
Even though Valencia CF aren't where we should be right now, this is still one of the biggest clubs in Spain. Having the chance to stay here for longer is a source of pride. I'm full of happiness and looking forward to staying here for a long time.
Adapting well
I came here on loan, but as time has gone by I've realised how great Valencia CF and the fans here are, and what the team mean to this city. I've loved the year that I've had here, with my teammates, and the connection with the fans and the staff. Everybody has made this a beautiful year, irrespective of how we've done. I've felt really comfortable and I had no doubt that I wanted to continue here.
It's easy to adapt here. My teammates are wonderful, incredible people and I'm also a very open person. I'm always happy and trying to make people laugh. Both of these things helped my adaptation here to be very fast. I'm very happy.
Working for a permanent deal
To stay here, I needed to have a good season. I needed to deserve the chance to stay here. It looks like that was the case, because the decision was made by Valencia CF. I will try to improve in what remains of this season, and the more the better next season.
Aims for next season
Next season we are going to fight to put Valencia CF back where the club deserve to be. We won't stop trying. The fans should be calm because Valencia CF are going to move on upwards.
Targetting more goals
The more that I score, the better -for me and for the team. We'll see, but I hope I keep scoring.
Integrating into the club
There is a great community here. I'm close to home and I don't think that my family have missed any game here. It's around 3 hours away by car, which isn't really anything. My teammates are here, and I go and watch the second team a lot as well. When players come up from that team, they are amazingly willing. I like watching them, just like when I was in the youth team at Getafe and I was excited by first team players coming to watch me. When I have the opportunity, when I finish training I stay on and watch them. They've been having a great year as well.
Hard work
I've found out this year, from being here. When I got here, I was told that the fans like hard workers. I knew that I was going to fit in here because I think that I'm a hard worker who hasn't been gifted anything. I think that all success has hard work behind it
