The Castellón I Penitentiary Center will host the “Els nostres ídols: Saura” exhibition, organised by the VCF Heritage and Museum Department, through to August 12th, as the display moves from its previous space in Onda.

At the opening were Enrique Saura Gil himself, accompanied by Pepe Claramunt, another Valencia CF legend; the director general of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei; Celia Bautista, director of CP Castellón I; Francisco Bou, director of the Victoria Kent Adult School; Victor Salvador, CD Castellón legend; Alejandro Moll, representative of the Castellón Fundación; José María Arquimbau and Ximo Alcón, from the CD Castellón Heritage Department; and José Vicente Iserte, Councillor for Sports in Onda.

This exhibition is part of the agreement, signed in June of this year, between the VCF Foundation and the General Secretariat of Penitentiary Institutions, to promote sport in prisons in the Valencia region, specifically through the activity of the Escoles Cor Blanquinegre initiative, to contribute to reeducation and social reintegration.

The VCF Foundation has already been working in penitentiary centres for several seasons, and with this agreement, it seeks to promote the learning of football and the positive values of team sport, as a contribution to the development of the capacities of inmates; promote the practice of sport with a primarily educational and recreational orientation; undertake complementary activities of a cultural nature; and offer a positive alternative for the use of their free time.
