“Els nostres ídols: Saura” now open for visits in Onda

A tribute to Enrique Saura Gil, in the form of the exhibition "Els nostres ídols: Saura", was opened this Friday in Onda, his hometown, with the Valencia CF legend himself present in person.
Organised by the Heritage and Museum Departament of the VCF Foundation, this exhibition joins those already dedicated to other legends: Puchades, Claramunt, Roberto Gil and Mañó.
With the collaboration of the Onda City Council and the VCF Footballers Association, the exhibition takes a tour of Saura's personal and football life, with historical pieces from his career.
Enrique Saura (“Saureta”), born on August 2, 1954 in Ayódar (Castellón) and raised in Onda, won three trophies with Valencia CF, where he played from 1975 to 1985: The 1979 Copa, the Cup Winners' Cup in 1979/80 and the Supercopa in 1980/81; These last two trophies were lifted by him as team captain.
A skillful midfielder with exquisite technique, he was an international for Spain, playing in the 1980 European Championship (Italy) and the 1982 World Cup (Spain). In addition, he featured in the 1976 Olympics (Montreal).
Saura was accompanied at the event by family and friends, as well as by the director general of the VCF Foundation, Teo Swee Wei, and the mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester.
Also present was Ricardo Arias, club ambassador and teammate of the honoree, as well as Pepe Claramunt, José Manuel Sempere and Darío Felman, also teammates -the latter two, representatives of the VCF Footballers' Association VCF. The VCF Peñas Association were also represented.

Teo Swee Wei, commented that “We at Valencia CF and the VCF Foundation want to convey our satisfaction with the exhibition that we are opening today in Onda, called 'Els nostres ídols: Saura.' Enrique Saura Gil, a club legend who accompanies us today, is the protagonist of this well-deserved tribute. Valencia CF owed it to him and the club, through the Heritage and Museum Department of the VCF Foundation and with the invaluable help of the Onda Town Hall, have made it a reality."
The exhibition can be visited until Saturday, July 30, in the Exhibition Hall of the Casa de la Cultura de Onda (Calle Balmes, 2): Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
