Fran Pérez: "We were close to victory, but we can be proud"
Valencia CF attacker, Fran Pérez, reviewed the draw against Athletic Club, in which he scored his first goal for the club and also provided an assist for Hugo Duro.
Analysing the match
“It's a pity. We had a good game. We competed very well. We leave here with a bad taste in our mouths because of the last few minutes, in which we were close to victory. However, we can go away proud because a great challenge of ours was to compete away from home -and I think we did that today.”
Being able to react
“In the first few minutes they put pressure on us and we were able to hold on, then the goal came, but we didn't give up and we were able to turn the game around. If it hadn't been for the last few minutes, we would have taken the three points."
A good performance away from home
"At home we have been competing well and doing things well, and our challenge was to do it away from home too. Today we did that, and we have to continue in the same way."
His first goal in LaLiga
"I'm happy because I've been looking for a goal for many games. I'm happy to help the team in terms of the statistics and it's positive that we score goals and give assists, because we help the team pick up points."
Upcoming matches for the team
"Now we have two more games coming up this week. We have to recover well, hold our heads high because we had a good game, and on Thursday we will go all-out."
