Gayà reaches 250 official appearances for Valencia CF
José Luis Gayà played his 250th official game for Valencia CF in the LaLiga match against Getafe CF. The club captain was unfortunately unable to celebrate the occasion with a victory, but provided the determination and skill that has become his calling card during his eight years to date in the senior side.

Arriving at a young age as a striker, Gayà was gradually molded into one of the best left backs in the world, and it was in that position that he debuted for the first team, on October 30th, 2012, against Llagostera in the Copa del Rey.
Of the 250 games that he has contested, the player from Pedreguer has been a starter on 231 occasions. He has played the full 90 minutes 230 times, having only been subbed in 20 games.
Gayà is the third youngest player to reach the milestone, still just 25 years old. He is 44th on the all-time appearance ranking for Valencia CF in their 102 years of existence.

Outstanding both in defence and going forward up the wing, he currently holds a record of 5 goals and 27 assists -4 of which has come this season- and has received both the captain's armband and inclusion in the Spain national team setup.
