Gayà: “We’re not going to let our heads drop”
One of the Valencia CF captains, José Luis Gayà faced the media after the defeat to SD Eibar, and he was clear that the team have to keep going despite the setback.
“It’s a real pity, as we had to win today because there is little time before LaLiga comes to a close,” he explained. “The match was a tough one for us from the start. After the halftime break we looked to hit the space more and found chances on goal, but they didn’t go in and we leave here frustrated and sad.”
“We’re not going tol et our heads drop,” he continued. “However, the situation has become very difficult. If Getafe and Sevilla win, then it will be practically impossible to take fourth place.”
“I tumbled over with Orellana during the move that led to Eibar’s goal. They got underneath me a little and that caused me to clear the ball poorly,” Gayà said of the decisive goal for Eibar.
“Now we have to focus on the Europa League semifinal; we have a very exciting challenge ahead. It will be difficult to think about Thursday today -it’s a shame because we should have won this one.”
