The goal was the fourth goal that the striker has scored against FC Barcelona for Valencia CF shirt. Last season he scored at the Camp Nou to open his account for the club, and he would find the net twice more at Mestalla against Barça in the 2-0 victory played last January.
In addition, with Celta Vigo Gómez was on target on a further two occasions against FC Barcelona. His total against the Catalan giants now stands at 6 and counting.
