Gómez gifts Bossio signed Uruguay shirt
Maxi Gómez took centre stage in Uruguay's first victory in the qualifying stage for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The Valencia CF forward scored a winning goal in injury time against Chile, helping his country to three key points on the road to the next international competition.
The shirt that he wore in that game holds special value, but Gómez has given it away as a gift to a special friend: Miguel Ángel Bossio, club legend and ambassador .
Since Gómez joined Valencia CF in the summer of 2019, Bossio has been his biggest supporter. The two Uruguayans forged a strong connection from the get-go. The striker decided to repay the VCF veteran by presenting him with the signed garment from the match against Chile.
Maxi Gómez was unable to join up with his country in the most recent round of call-ups, due to injury, but he is a regular in squad's chosen by coach Óscar Washington Tabárez.
