Gracia: "Positive results always lift the spirits of the group"
Javi Gracia talked to VCF Media just after the final whistle in Murcia, and gave his opinions on the game against Villarreal CF.
“We started the game badly. We were too tentative and lacking in confidence and fluidity in our play. Not having the ball hurt us. In the end, we were up against a team who, when dominating that game, have that quality to find space -and individual quality to finish off the chances. There was a moment in which we were suffering,” he explained.
“Gradually, in the first half, we got into it and had a clear chance. It's true that our best moments came later on -in that final quarter-hour of the first half, and in the second half when we grew more. We started to believe more, and gained the confidence we needed with the ball, in order to continue doing it without the ball. We needed to be more dominant on the ball, and not just be chasing possession.”
“Positive results always help lift the spirits of the group and give more confidence in our daily work. It boosts the group. The priority is to accumulate work and compete well against good teams. We are competing well with young players and getting good results. As we've said many times before, we're proud of how they are working on a daily basis. We're very satisfied with them.”
