Hugo Guillamón: “Our fans are going to help us, and we are going to give 100%”

VCF Media interviews Hugo Guillamón

Hugo Guillamón is clear about one thing: Mestalla makes the difference. Our stadium returns to 100% capacity this Saturday for the first time in almost two years, as Valencia CF take on RCD Mallorca.

The support of Mestalla

It's very important for us to take the three points. What's more, we're playing at home in front of our fans. I'm sure that a lot of people will be there, and we're going to go for the win and three very important points. Finally we have 100% capacity at Mestalla. It's very positive for the team to have the fans there supporting us, and we are going to try to give them the win that they deserve. It's very important for us to feel the support from the fans. They are always there and help us to win games. This Saturday we have a game against Mallorca, and a chance to end this winless run that we are on. I'm sure that they are going to help us.

Back to 100%

The least that we can do is compete and demand the most from ourselves, to be able to get those wins that aren't coming at the moment. The team have given their all in these recent games, and on Saturday it won't be any different. The team performed well. It's true that there are many things that we have to improve, because we've dropped points in these recent matchdays. We maybe haven't been as solid as we had been before. We have to improve these things, so that the wins come.

Taking chances

We have been creating chances. Sometimes the ball doesn't go in. Maybe that has hindered us in some games. We have to keep creating chances and be strong defensively, improving what we've been lacking in order to win games.

What happened at the Camp Nou

There are moments that are decisive, and that can change games. The referee explained one thing to us, and then when we watched the video we saw that it wasn't the case. I think that, for incidents like that, he should go over to the video pitchside. If the referee has doubts, then I think the best thing is that he watches it. He might have seen something that wasn't the case. I think that we all felt that he should have watched the footage. It's in place for the good of the game, whether it goes in our favour or against us. I think that, in those doubtful incidents, he should go and look at it. In the end, the referee wasn't completely certain that what he whistled for was what had happened. I think that it would have been good for him to look at it.
