Jaume, Gameiro, Kondogbia and president Anil Murthy attend XXV Convenció de Penyes event

The XXV Convenció de Penyes event, held in Alzira on Saturday, brought together Valencia CF players, representatives and supporters group members in a summer celebration of unity and dedication to the club.
Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral and squad members Jaume Domènech, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Kevin Gameiro, joined by Valencia CF president Anil Murthy, were present to greet the over 1,000 attendees. They posed for photos, signed autographs and received compliments and cheers from the gathered fans, and spoke about their objectives for the upcoming 2019/20 campaign.
Jaume was the first to take the microphone and address the crowd, saying that "We are very happy to be here with you, and above all to see how alive the support for Valencia CF is. I thank you for always standing alongside the team, even in difficult moments; it's what enabled us to bring the Copa del Rey back to Valencia and celebrate it with you."
"We are very excited and working hard to face the challenge of four competitions, but we are going to need your support all year," he continued. "We have shown that Valencia CF can be up at the top. We are going to give our all so that the club continue to achieve success."
Marcelino, who has been back at the Ciudad Deportiva to start preseason training for his squad, also gave a brief speech.
“It's a pleasure to be the coach of this great club, with this great fanbase. I thank you for the support, above all in difficult moments, as it has made us stronger and able to achieve a very difficult target, winning the Copa del Rey against FC Barcelona after they had won it five times in six years. This was possible because of your support and thanks to an extraordinary squad, whose unity and values allowed us to with the cup."
“Humility is valuable, because it allows us to see reality. It's important that, with your support, we are able to repeat the success of this past year -even though it will be very difficult. We will fight with all our might to bring you more joy, but there will be difficult moments, in which we need you the most. With your support and the effort of the squad, I am sure that we will enjoy ourselves in the end."
Valencia CF president Anil Murthy thanked the Agrupació de Penyes for their work alongside the club to benefit all supporters group members, and spoke of what he hopes lies ahead for the collaboration.
"One of the objectives of our renewed relationship is to make sure that the passion for the club is revitalised and grows every day. We are doing that. It's not only in the Valencia region either: It is also happening in the rest of Spain and abroad. In the space of one year we have gone from 5 international supporters groups to 15. Valencia CF are a club with strong roots in our region, but also with a large global growth that will continue."
"On every away trip, in LaLiga and in Europe, we always feel the support of the fans. There is always a 'zero tolerance' approach to any type of violence, and an attitude of fair play with fans of other clubs."
"We need to continue in the same way, because when we are united we can beat any team. The excitement about the club is very much alive, and that has been reflected in the season ticket renewal campaign."
