José Gayà, part of a commitment to young talent
It was under Nuno Espirito Santo that Jose Luis Gayà established himself and made his UEFA Champions League debut - a reflection of Meriton’s belief in providing young talented Academy players the opportunity to play in the first team.
Gayà played both at Valencia CF as one of the first-team captains and the Spanish national team, where he made his international debut in the goal-fest against Croatia on September 11th, 2018.
From 11 years old, Gaya has been the product of the Valencia Academy. Now 25 years of age, he has made 227 first-team appearances and has become an iconic figure for both the VCF fanbase and Academy products alike.
