Mangala: "It was very important to win after consecutive defeats"

Eliaquim Mangala started his fourth game of the season in the Copa del Rey contest against UD Logroñés, partnering Mouctar Diakhaby in the centre of the defence. Satisfied with the result, the Frenchman gave his thoughts after the final whistle.
"We were up against a good team on a tough pitch. I think that in the end we deserved the victory. We could have scored more goals, but in the end we won -which is the most important thing. It was very important to win after consecutive defeats, and we need to continue like this," said Mangala.
As for his lack of minutes as of late, the defender was philosophical.
"There are many quality players in the squad, and not everybody can play. When you have an opportunity, you have to put in the best performance possible. I'm calm. I'm working with my teammates, I have everybody's trust and I try to enjoy myself when I play."
"Now we have to rest and prepare for the game against FC Barcelona, which is very important for us. We've lost and not played well recently, and we want to change this."
