Qualifying for the 2019/20 Champions League owed an enormous amount to Valencia CF's form in the second half of the LaLiga season, masterminded by coach Marcelino and carried out by the players as they clinched fourth on the final day of the season.
For the boss, it was his most successful second period of a league season to date. VCF managed to rack up 38 points since Matchday 19, more than their 33 point haul from last season.
His previous best second half to a top flight campaign was in 2007/08, in charge of Racing Santander, when the Cantabrian side earned 28 points.
Valencia CF have also been competing in the Europa League and Copa del Rey alongside their LaLiga exploits, and in the latter competition Marcelino has the chance to win the cup for the first time as a coach.
