Match Report: Convincing derby win over Levante UD (2-0)

VCF Femenino welcomed crosstown opposition Levante UD Femenino at the Antonio Puchades on Sunday 6th of February at 5:30 pm kick-off time on Matchday 21 of the Primera Iberdrola.
The game saw a tentative passage of play with both sides trying to use the wings albeit there was more intensity about VCF Femenino who were knocking the ball around better in the opening ten minutes of the first half.
Candela put VCF Femenino following a great ball recovery and a clever crossfield pass sending the ball out wide into Esther who delivered a pinpoint low cross across the 18-yard box which was slammed home by Candela.
Andrea Esteban’s side dictated the play and tempo of the game with attacking forays through the middle and down the wings penning the opposition inside their own half at times.
VCF Femenino edged out Levante UD Femenino at halftime.
The away side had a spirited start to the second half showcasing more efficiency up front. However, Anna Torroda put VCF Femenino two goals to the good following a scintillating solo move down the right-wing by Candela which was finished off by Anna Torrodà with a powerful effort.
Enith denied Redondo from giving Levante UD Femenino a way back into the game on 59 minutes. The away side kept on pushing with long-range efforts and from set pieces.
Korenciová prevented VCF Femenino from adding a third on 81 minutes and counterpart Enith followed suit keeping the scoreline at 2-0 four minutes later.
VCF Femenino saw out the Valencia Teika derby to claim all three points and return to winning ways with a convincing display.
