MATCH REPORT | Goalless draw away to Cádiz
Valencia CF drew 0-0 with Cádiz CF (0-0) on their trip to the Nuevo Mirandilla, despite being the better side in the second half and enjoying several attempts on goal. The difference proved to be opposition goalkeeper Ledesma, who was kept busy throughout the evening.
The first half was closely contested between both teams. The first chance of note for Valencia CF came from Omar Alderete, who was unable to find the net. His misfortune continued later, when he picked up an early yellow card which -as his fifth of the season- means he will miss the next LaLiga game through suspension.
Daniel Wass tried a shot from outside the box in the opening period that would not find its way in, as the respective defences were the prominent factor in the opening period.
A moment of controversy before the break saw a penalty appeal for handball by Cádiz' Fali waved off by the referee and not given by VAR.
In the second half, Valencia CF came out with renewed energy, attacking with determination. Ledesma was required to stop two shots from Wass, one of them struck with great power. On the hour mark, a cross from Yunus Musah from the right was almost finished off by Marcos André and Hugo Duro, but the ball ended up going wide of the mark.
Insistent with their attempts, the visitors were denied in the opening minutes when Ledesma won a one-on-one with Duro, and the contest ended goalless.
Next up is the international break, following which the team will return to action with a game against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou.
