MATCH REPORT: Valencia CF safely through to next round of Copa del Rey
Valencia CF took a 0-3 victory in their Copa del Rey debut this season against CD Utrillas, thanks to goals from Marcos André, Yunus Musah and Koba Leïn.
Cold temperatures of 0ºC, the excitement from the 3,000 inhabitants of the town supporting one of the teams in the competition, and the motivation of the home players meant that Valencia CF had to work conscientiously, so as to avoid a shock.
After a pair of chances, Valencia CF opened the scoring in the 27th minute. They did so off a quick attack, from area to area, after a ball fought for by Yunus Musah. He got to the line and put in a cross that Maxi Gómez let through, so that Marcos André could send a shot into the net.

The Brazilian appeared to have scored a second goal before the break, but it would not count due to an offside call. The first half concluded 0-1 in José Bordalás' side's favour.
Upon the restart, the lead increased when Yunus Musah made it 0-2, taking advantage of a rebound after Lainez saved a penalty from Cheryshev.
Later on, the home goalkeeper would make another great display of reflexes, stopping a point-blank range shot from Racic. However, he was unable to keep out a masterful free kick from Koba Leïn, who sent the ball into the top corner.

Besides a 0-3 triumph, the game also featured a debut for César Tárrega -another product of the VCF Academy.
Next up is Sunday's visit to play Celta Vigo in LaLiga.
