Mina's goals go in two by two
The second half substitute was pivotal in the 3-0 win against Sporting Gijon
Santi Mina was on target twice in Valencia CF's Copa del Rey win against Sporting Gijon, taking the team through to the quarter finals of the cup competition.
Curiously, the Galician striker's 8 goals in all competitions so far this season have all come in pairs. He has now bagged braces against CD Ebro, Young Boys, Rayo Vallecano and Sporting Gijón this term.
Mina had come on as a substitute at half time in the Round of 16 2nd leg, replacing Rodrigo in the forward line, and would find the net on 65 minutes. His second goal, scored 11 minutes later, helped to ease VCF into the next stage of the cup.
"We're ambitious. We know the desire that we have to do something big and bring joy to the club with a trophy," said the striker after the game.
"It will be hard to win it, but we have to fight for the Copa del Rey. If we aim for it, we have a chance to win it."
