Ricardo Arias: “Playing the first match at Mestalla is a big boost - we have to take advantage of it”
The Valencia CF legend and Club ambassador reacts to the LALIGA EA SPORTS 2025/26 fixture list on L’Informatiu on VCF Media Radio.
Nico González returned from a long term injury against Osasuna on Matchday 25, coming on in the second half and participating in the winning goal. After the game, he spoke to VCF Media.
An important win
The goal was to get out of the relegation zone and get all three points. The victory was more than deserved. I am happy for the team.
Working hard
We have to focus on having a good attitude. If we work every minute, the results will come. Perhaps one day things will not turn out the way we want, but the most important thing is to have that attitude and that intensity. It is being seen in these last games that the results are finally coming.
Mestalla the key
Today I think we deserved a few more goals, but we would settle for winning 1-0 in all the games that remain. If we are strong at home, it is impossible for us to return to the situation of the last few weeks, down there at the bottom
Emotion
It's nice to play here. The goal that gave us the victory gave me goosebumps with emotion, with all the desire I had to celebrate a goal here. It was amazing. It was beautiful.
His impact
I was lucky that Lucas Torró slipped. Practically the first ball I touched went in our favour and it was a great goal.
Contributing from the bench
The coach asked me for a lot of intensity and that we try to have a little more of the ball to control the game. In the end, we quickly found the goal and then we did what we had to do. We tried to keep Osasuna away from our half. We achieved it and things turned out very well.
Continuity
Hopefully I can contribute everything I can to the team in the coming games, with the minutes that the coach gives me. We have to think about next Saturday now, as it is a good opportunity to get some breathing space before the international break.
