As part of the 'Sempre Falles' initiative, Valencia CF president Anil Murthy handed over the themed Ninot for the match against Atletico Madrid to their vice-president, Antonio Alonso, before kickoff.
The figurine, created by artist Vicente Espeleta from Fallas Espeleta in Burriana, features a player performing an overhead kick above the 'Hemisfèric' building at Valencia's Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències. There is also a reference to the Atletico Madrid crest, with a tree and a bear included.
The Sempre Falles initiative is being run jointly with the Valencia Ayuntamiento city council, and is part of the 'Sempre Valencia' campaign to support the region from a health, economic and social perspective.
