Silver for Soler at Olympic Games
Carlos Soler achieved a silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, with the Spanish men' team losing 2-1 in the final to Brazil at the Yokohama National Stadium.
The Valencia CF midfielder is the latest player from the club to have earned an Olympic medal, joining a select list.
Claudio López (silver at Atlanta '96), David Albelda and Miguel Ángel Angulo (silver at Sydney 2000), Roberto Fabián Ayala and Emiliano Moretti (gold for Argentina and bronze for Italy, both at Athens '04) and Éver Banega (gold at Beijing '08) are all previous Valencia CF stars to achieve Olympic accolades.
