Soler returns to Valencia after Olympic silver
Carlos Soler touched back down in Valencia on Monday night, after having spent the majority of the last month in Tokyo. The midfielder returns home with a silver medal from the Olympic Games, with Spain having reached the final of the football competition.
Several fans and journalists were waiting for him, and VCF Media were able to talk to the Valencia CF captain before he headed home to rest up.
"We all know what flying is like. A 14-hour trip is tough, but it's ok. I slept a lot on the plane, and I'll do the same when I get home because Japan is 7 hours ahead. My eyes are closing a little, but I'm happy to be back," he explained upon arrival, reflecting positively on his Olympic experience.
"In the end, a silver medal is a very big thing -something historic. Very few players -especially Spanish players- have one. I'm very happy. It's a pity that we couldn't bring home the gold, but this will stay with us forever."

With Valencia CF playing Getafe CF in their LaLiga season opener on Friday night, Soler will be returning to training imminently in order to prepare for the contest.
"We're all very happy about this success, and I'm looking forward to seeing the squad tomorrow," said the silver medalist.
