UYL Match Report: VCF U19’S claim valuable point in six-goal thriller at Chelsea U 19’S (3-3)

Koba‘s brace and Hugo Soto’s opener earn Angulo’s side a valuable point at Cobham Training Ground against the current runners-up.

Valencia CF U19's opened their UEFA Youth League campaign at Chelsea at Cobham Training Ground at 1 pm BST(2 pm CET)Valencia CF U19 were off to a perfect start thanks to an early Hugo González goal after a brilliant intricate piece of play that saw Hugo Sotos in space placed it into the bottom corner to give Valencia CF U19's and early lead.

Valencia CF U19's was short-lived as Chelsea were awarded a spot-kick for handball Anjori’s pass. Anjorin stepped up and scored the resulting penalty with a chipped finish past Joaquin Blazquez but Valencia CF U19''s produced an immediate response to Chelsea’s spot-kick equaliser with an absolute rocket of a left-footer by Koba which crashed in off the angle to put Valencia CF U19's back in front.

Chelsea  CF were awarded a second spot-kick in the closing minutes of the opening half for a foul on Lamptey and Anjorin brought Chelsea U19' 's back on level terms from twelve yards to grab a spot-kick brace. The first half finished two goals apiece in an entertaining first half with nothing to separate the sides at half-time and all to play for in the second half with Angulo’s side being the better side in terms of menace and play.

Valencia CF U19’s emerged in the second looking to retake the lead but the hosts came back from behind just over the hour mark through Armando Broja who swept home Tariq Lamptey’s return pass in order to go in front for the first time in the encounter and against the run of play.

Koba stung Ziger's palms and then Nacho deflected shot rattled the woodwork in the final quarter-hour mark of the game trying to restore parity and come away with a point from Cobham and they did through Koba who lashed it home beyond Ziger late on in the game.  

Valencia CF U19’s went all out for the winner in the closing minutes of the game but the scoreline remained unchanged and VCF U19’s claimed a valuable point in a six-goal thriller in the UEFA Youth League opener. 

Valencia CF will host  Ajax on Wednesday the 2nd of October in their second group stage fixture at 2 pm at VCF Paterna Training Ground at 2 pm where the will look to pick up a win in their opening home group stage fixture.
