Valencia CF to face CD Castellón in the 2025/26 preseason
The match will take place on July 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Estadi Antonio Puchades in the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna
This Tuesday, Valencia CF and Air Nostrum presented the Centenary aeroplane, a CRJ-1000 with a special fusilage in homage to the club's history. The plane will form part of the airline's most modern fleet and will fly around the world, giving visibility to the club on its routes around mainland Spain, Europe and Northern Africa.
The initiative is another part of the Centenary celebrations, joining two Valencian companies who are leaders in their respective sectors.
Valencia CF president Anil Murthy spoke at the presentation, saying that “Today is a special day. Air Nostrum wanted to join the club's Centenary celebrations in spectacular style. This beautiful aeroplane will fly to various countries in Europe and Northern Africa. It is going to have an important, positive impact in the growth of the branding of Valencia CF. I am very happy and satisfied that the club's brand has experienced rapid growth over the past two years; here in Valencia, in Spain, in Europe, the USA, China, Korea, Indonesia etc. I want to thank and congratulate Air Nostrum and all our partners who have chosen to collaborate with Valencia CF."
He also talked about the Copa del Rey game against Real Betis that the club will play this week.
"I hope to see a full stadium on Thursday with fans supporting the team. We all want to enjoy ourselves, but first we will have to suffer together," he said.
Air Nostrum president Carlos Bertomeu explained the idea behind the plane's design, telling those present that "It is an honour to present this aircraft. We are a Valencian company founded by the Serratosa family, who began their work in regional aviation some 25 years ago. Having the official Valencia CF plane is an honour. The club are a hugely important client for us."
The relationship between Valencia CF and Air Nostrum began in 2001, and the airline have provided transport for the team in all competitions.
"I am a Valencia CF fan, because that is how my parents brought me up," continued Bertomeu. "There are many pilots and cabin crew members who are fans, and everybody wants to be on the Valencia CF plane. I still remember several anecdotes involving the club, such as the pilot opening the hatch so that David Albelda could show off a trophy, and when Joaquín spent two hours telling jokes when we were grounded in Barcelona because of fog."
