Valencia CF to remember Di Stefano on first visit to stadium bearing his name
 
                                    Valencia CF will face Real Madrid on Thursday night at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stéfano in Valdebebas -the club's first visit to the venue named after a legend for both clubs. Di Stefano was one of 'Los Blancos' greatest every players, and as a coach he was amongst Valencia CF's most successful and important figures..
At halftime, VCF president Anil Murthy will present Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez with a framed photo of Di Stefano, with a dedication to mark the occasion.
Speaking ahead of the game, Valencia CF ambassador Ricardo Arias -who played under Di Stefano- paid tribute:
"Alfredo is somebody who has always been very loved by the Valencia CF fans. Whenever he was at Valencia CF he achieved something big: The LaLiga title, the European Cup Winners Cup, promotion to the top flight... I only have words of thanks and appreciation for him. Everyone involved with Valencia CF has a lot to be grateful to him for; he is somebody who is very loved by Valencians and Valencianistas."
Head of Institutional Relations for Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueño, also expressed his admiration:
"The legendary Alfredo Di Stefano unites both of our institutions. Playing this game at the stadium that bears his name makes us remember him especially. The legacy he left behind will endure eternally, and he reflected the universal values that make the world of football and sport great.
