Valencia CF U-12 team travel to Orlando to play LaLiga FC Futures International tournament
The Valencia CF youth team will take part in this tournament in Florida (USA) from October 10 to 12
The VCF Escoles project currently supports 37 affiliate schools in their quest to bring through homegrown talent in the Valencia and Muscia regions. The ambitious programme has added 9 new associated institutions, and the future is exciting for the club and the players alike.
At the official presentation of the 2020/21 project, Technical Director Carlos Martínez -who runs VCF Escoles alongside Ramón Mompó and Vicente Amposta- talked to VCF Media about the objectives and the plans for this campaign.
"This project has different 'branches,' under the umbrella of creating passion for Valencia CF. The first consists of assessment for the schools by all of the departments at Valencia CF. The sole aim is to improve the everyday running of the schools," he explained.
"The second is about the players and their sporting talent. This project has to identify talent in the Valencia region. Then there is a third branch, which is the development of Valencia CF's image on a social level. It's about making sure that the VCF badge appears at every location associated with the club, and that through a series of activities we get closer to them -and vice-versa. In the end, it's about us being a big club, primarily within the region."
Martinez continued by saying that: "Last season some 20-25 children joined Valencia CF from affiliate schools. A further 20-25 received scholarships at the schools for us to follow them more closely. We are also lucky in terms of the coaches. I think that this is important. We have brought in two coaches this season from affiliated schools, who are currently working with us. I think that this project is beneficial for everybody, and for each entity."
"We have incorporated seven schools this season, and we are very happy to have them here, starting out on this path with us. They are showing this desire to grow alongside Valencia CF, which I think is important. Personally, it fills you with pride to see this response."
