VCF fan Boro Mateu on the morale boost from watching his team
During the break in LaLiga action, many Valencianistas are reflecting on their favourite memories of their team and what they enjoy most about going to watch them play.
That is the case for Boro Mateu, a Valencia CF fan who has been a season ticket holder for the last six years and followed the club since a young age. The supporter, who has spina bifida, is missing the visits to Mestalla that he holds so dear to his heart.
"The Copa del Rey win against FC Barcelona last year is my favourite memory," recalls Boro, who attended his first final watching Valencia CF lift the cup.
"Thinking about Valencia CF helps me when I'm down, when my legs or my back hurt," he says. Boro also has a message for Valencianistas during the lockdown in Spain.
"Stay at home. If you do that, you protect yourselves and those of us with disabilities. We are weaker and the virus could affect us more. Soon we will have time to go out again and enjoy watching the team win."
