VCF President Anil Murthy: "This was an intelligent transfer window"

Joining the team are Rubén Sobrino and Facundo Roncaglia, with Michy Batshuayi having his loan deal cut short. Murthy expressed that "The situation at the club is very different to last year. This was an intelligent transfer window for Valencia CF; we improved the squad and we lowered the wage bill."
On the timing of the arrivals and departures, which all took place on January 31st, the VCF president said that "We had an exciting night. Not as exciting as the Copa del Rey comeback against Getafe CF, but almost. We scored a late goal in the final second of 'extra time' to close the window."
“We've brought in two important reinforcements. We have a very demanding schedule ahead, because we are in three competitions, and the two new signings will help us a lot. I want to thank Mateu Alemany and his entire team once again for their great work."
Murthy also wished Batshuayi "luck in a new stage of his career at Crystal Palace," adding that "it was a difficult transfer window."
