The footballer from Pedreguer features in European Football Clubs to speak about how training and environment shape a player’s career progression
Vicente Rodríguez joined VCF on July 1st, 2000. He was one of the players, who featured prominently in a golden period for the club. His first season with Valencia CF ended with the club finishing runner-up in the Champions League.
They won the La Liga title in 2001/02, although Vicente’s best campaign was in 2003/04, when he became the best player in Spain and was ranked amongst the top three in the world by FIFA. Valencia CF won a La Liga and UEFA Cup double that year.
Vicente Rodríguez possessed dazzling pace, full of goals his trickery and uncanny ability to storm past defenders earnt him nickname of el puñal de Benicalap (the dagger of Benicalap) for being a spear down the flank during his 11 year stint.
