Voro: "We are happy with the effort and it is the way forward"

Valencia CF coach Voro gave his impressions of the 1-0 defeat away to Sevilla FC in his post-match press conference.

Analysis of the match

"The showing we had was good. We came into this game to compete. The effort and attitude was very good. We knew that we were coming to a very difficult ground, and the team were very serious in defence. There weren't many chances, and Sevilla scored one of theirs. We are happy with the effort. That is the way forward. We have had a difficult season;  after getting the three points last Sunday the players managed to handle the situation and competed well. That was the way. Sevilla won with a chance that VAR showed was very close, and it could perfectly well have ended in a draw."

Following the same way

"We will continue on the same path. Today we started with five at the back, and then we changed to four. The most important thing is that the team compete to the fullest and that they are aware when facing difficulties. That is the objective and what we have set out for ourselves. We were very organised in defense. Maybe we lacked a pause with the ball in the first half, but we had a big team in front of us. They scored a goal and we couldn't equalise, but I am happy with everyone's commitment. We did what we had talked about, and now we have to move on and think about the game against SD Éibar."

Dedication and effort

"In last Sunday's game we had to get the points as soon as possible to free ourselves from pressure and not look below us. From there, we have to compete, try not to concede, and try to make the team comfortable defending and attacking. That is the aim we have. I am very happy with the commitment of the players. By competing like this, you get closer to winning than otherwise."

A good game

"We did very well in the second half, having possession and playing in the opposition half, and then their goal came. It has coincided with the substitutions that Sevilla FC made, but I would not attribute it to that."

Correia's tiredness

"The wingers put in great effort with this formation and it was a necessary change. He also came into this one from having played all 90 minutes on Sunday."

The possible return of fans to Mestalla

"I'm glad about the decision. We want the fans at Mestalla, although I don't know what percentage it will be. I understand that people will come to the ground to cheer on the team. If not, then I respect everyone's opinion."
