Wass' first goal for VCF at the Estadio de la Ceramica
Daniel Wass has been an ever-present for Valencia CF at the start of the LaLiga season, and is a strong candidate to feature against Villarreal CF in the regional derby on Sunday.
The Dane has a special memory of the Estadio de la Ceramica, as it was the venue for his first goal in a VCF shirt. It came back on April 11th, 2019, in the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League.
“That goal meant a lot to me, as it made it 1-2 at a very tough ground in the Europa League,” he recalls of the left footed strike from a José Luis Gayà cross.
“We would go on to score a third, but that second goal made things a little easier. It was very important and special for me, because it was my first for Valencia CF and a great hit.”
Wass’ other goals for Valencia CF have come against Huesca, Granada and Chelsea, and whenever he has scored, the team have not been beaten.
“We are going into this game against very good opponents, and against several ex-teammates. It will be special and also difficult, but we will go there looking for the three points. I don’t think it’s impossible to win there.”
