Wass: "Our aim is to start off better than we did last year"
Daniel Wass and his Valencia CF teammates are close to their return to Mestalla for the bwin Trofeo Naranja, which takes place this Saturday night. The Dane spoke about the upcoming contest against Inter, the start of the LaLiga season and plenty more besides, as he attended the presentation of Libertex as the club's new Premium Plus Partner.
"Preseason is tough, but we're doing very well now after two days' rest. It's a demanding summer schedule, with high-level games against tough opposition," the versatile VCF player commented.
"We are looking forward to playing at Mestalla again, in front of our fans, and going up against a top side like Inter."

When asked about the club's aspirations for the upcoming campaign, Wass underlined the significance of beginning the season well.
"The most important thing is that we focus on how we start the season. We need a good start, and we'll see what happens from there. We really want to have a good year, like we did last time, but the first game is very important."
"The objective is the same as last year, but we want more -and we've already won the cup and got into the Champions League. Our aim is to start off better than we did last year."
Wass is joined by a familiar face this season, with the arrival of ex-Celta Vigo teammate Maxi Gómez. He believes the Uruguayan will not have too many problems finding the net.
"He's looking good. The way that we play here is a little different to at Celta Vigo, but he's steadily going to score many goals, because he's very dangerous in the box. He is going to be a good addition for us."
"In terms of my role, I think it will be like it was last year: Playing a bit of everything. I'm here to help, whether that be playing as a central midfielder or a full back. The most important thing for me is that I help the team."
