Valencia CF's sponsors show their support and help to those affected by the tragic fire in the Campanar neighbourhood. This afternoon, Pablo Martínez, co-owner of 'El Gordo y El Flaco' -official sponsor of Valencia CF Femenino- was the protagonist of the Valencia CF magazine show 'Sentiment VCF'.
Helping those affected
"One of our mottos is that it costs little to help a lot and whenever it is needed and we can be there, it costs nothing and it is one of our duties to support those who need it. On Thursday when we were able to deal with what was happening, we managed to contact the Valencia Local Police and we put ourselves at their service for whatever they might need and thanks to one of the officers, we coordinated to bring them some dinner for all the people who were there working and even for the neighbours, if anyone needed it because at that moment they had nowhere to eat, and we were able to bring pizzas and hamburgers and then also on Saturday, thanks to Valencia CF, who helped us coordinate also to take them to a fire station in Burjassot. It's a small gesture, since you can't do anything else, we like to do the little we can do".
Annual charity event 'La Masclet'.
"This Saturday, 24 February, we celebrated this event, but we felt that there was no way we could celebrate anything or have any party when there were people in our city who were going through the situation they were going through. It didn't make any sense. We decided to postpone it to the 23rd of March which we hope everyone will still come to.
We have increased the capacity and if more people want to sign up they can do so through www.lamasclet.com. The proceeds will go to the Spanish Association Against Cancer and Asindown. 100% of the proceeds, both in tickets and bars, will be donated".
