Match Report: Away loss to PSV in third preseason friendly (2-1)

Valencia CF had a poor start to the game when Ismael Saibari made it 1-0 to PSV Eindhoven just two minutes into the first half.

Minutes later, PSV Eindhoven were forced into an injury substitution with Mauro Jr making way for Oppegard.

Valencia CF enjoyed more ball possession over the ten-minute mark and shortly after, Valencia CF's first shot on target fell to Rafa Mir, but his shot deflected off a PSV defender and the ball went behind for a corner kick.

Three minutes later, Sergi Canós equalised following a fin Jesús Vázquez burst down the left flank to deliver a teasing ball into Sergi Canos who showed great composure, brought the ball down and slammed it past the keeper. 

 Alas, the joy was short-lived when Ismael Saibari put the hosts back in front over the midway mark of the first half.  PSV Eindhoven were forced into their second injury substitution in the latter stages of the first half.

Valencia CF trailed PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at half-time at the Phillips Stadion.

The game saw end-to-end action in the second half with Hugo enjoying a clear chance following a link-up play withCanós but his effort was turned behind for a corner kick by the PSV keeper.

Rafa Mir got on the end of a Jesús Vázquez delivery, but his forceful effort was turned behind for a corner as the game continued to open up.

Late on, Stole Dimitrievski produced heroics to deny Lukk De Jong in a one-on-one situation.

Stole Dimirivski followed suit in the 74th minute with another brilliant piece of goalkeeping to deny Bakayoko and keep the scoreline at 2-1 to the Netherlands' current champions.  

 Dimitievski pulled off yet another splendid stop to deny Guss Til in the 82-minute. 

Valencia CF's third preseason test ended in a 2-1 defeat. 

Baraja's men will host cross-town opposition Levante UD on Wednesday 31st of July at the Antonio Puchades at 7 pm kick-off where they try to pick up their first preseason win.
