Valencia CF will face the Mexican National Team this Sunday morning, 13th October. A special match in which the presence of former Valencia player Andrés Guardado is highlighted.
The Club's Corporate Director -Javier Solís-, and the legend and Team Manager of the men's first team -Voro González- have presented the former Valencia CF player with a personalised shirt with his name and number ‘18’.
"It is special. Seeing people I was with during my time at Valencia CF is always a joy. I made friendships for life and it's a team that opened doors for me and I'm very grateful to them. Valencia is a spectacular city and I wish them to return to the positions they deserve and return to being the Valencia CF that we all know," said Guardado.
The midfielder from Guadalajara joined Valencia in May 2012 with Mauricio Pellegrino as coach. Guardado, in addition to playing as a midfielder, also contributed to the team as a left-back. In his first season as a Valencia CF player, he scored 1 goal and provided 6 assists in 50 games.
In his second season, he played with Miroslav Djukic on the bench. With the Serbian coach, Guardado played 24 games and gave 1 assist. In the winter transfer window, he went on loan to Bayer Leverkusen until the end of the season. After that and before the start of LALIGA 2014-15, he went on loan to PSV Eindhoven.
