César Tárrega celebrates two years since his debut in LALIGA
The player from Aldaia made his debut against Atlético de Madrid at Mestalla
September 16, 2023 will always be a special day for César Tárrega. The centre-back from Aldaia made his debut with the first team in a LALIGA match and did so achieving a great victory (3-0) against Atlético de Madrid at Mestalla.
Tárrega was developed at the VCF Academy and, prior to his league debut with Valencia CF, he made his official debut – Copa del Rey – with the first team against CD Utrillas in 2021. Since that day, the Valencian defender has grown by leaps and bounds at Valencia CF until reaching, today, the status of one of the captains of the squad.
During last season, his great performances with the Valencia CF team led him to be in contention for the best under-23 player in LALIGA in the month of April; he ranked in the ‘top 5’ – among the five major leagues – of centre-backs with the highest percentage of effectiveness at preventing an opposing player in possession of the ball from dribbling past him; and was the third central defender with the most aerial duels won.

This defensive solidity, consistency and maturity also caught the attention of the Spanish under-21 national team, with which he was called up to take part in the European Championship of the category, having an important role, scoring a goal and being the MVP of the match against Slovakia.
