Ricardo Arias: “We have to stand by the team”
The VCF former player and current ambassador spoke on VCF Media Radio’s news program to discuss the team’s current situation
Ricardo Arias joined VCF Media Radio to talk about the current state of Valencia CF and, specifically, the upcoming match against Real Betis at Mestalla Stadium.
Results
We need to stand by the team. They are the Club’s main representatives — they’re the ones who play, and they’re the ones we must rely on in the coming matches. Naturally, we have to be with them. This is not the time to pass judgment; it’s a time to reflect and change the team’s momentum. For that change, the strength of Mestalla and the unity between the players and the fans are also essential. The players must take the first step, but they need to feel that the fans are behind them.
Upcoming matches
We need to earn points. If we win three games, we can climb up the table. Any team can have a good run and feel more at ease. The fans will stand by the team. We all have to be on the same page — that of going out to win matches. I don’t see the team as being worse off than in the last two seasons in terms of the options the coach has. We must be patient, but that doesn’t mean lowering our standards. It’s important to leave a good image of the Club in every match.
Real Betis
Real Betis have a very good squad with plenty of depth. Every time they’ve come here, they’ve played great games. If you’re capable of beating a team like Betis, then you have the obligation to, at the very least, play the rest of the matches at that same level.
